10AM POST – LITERACY

Now this needs EVERYONE to take part !!!!!!!

Listen to the story below – it’s one of our favourites at Catrine ECC and once you’re done sit a teddy at your window.

At some point in the day you’re going to go on YOUR VERY OWN BEAR HUNT around Catrine and count how many bears you can find – Don’t be scared, it’s a beautiful day 🙂

Please remember to be vigilant of social distancing. This activity should only be carried out with the people who stay in your house and used as a way to give your daily walk/exercise a purpose. Thank you.

Dave The Dog – coronavirus story book

Here is story that may help your child understand a little about the changes they are experiencing in their every day life just now.

It might provide the opportunity for your child to ask questions or talk about their feelings.

Day 1 – ECC Timetable for Monday 23rd March 2020

Good Evening everyone !!!

Well, here goes…… Please click below to see Catrine’s 1st ever daily timetable for tomorrow 🙂

We hope you enjoy our suggestions for maintaining routine and learning within your home.

On top of the daily timetable each day, staff will upload 2 challenging and interactive activities, one at 10am and the other at 2pm (or as close to these times as possible). Think of these two tasks as the main home learning experiences of the day. These can be adapted to suit your child’s stage of development and hopefully to include other siblings in the home too.

We would LOVE to see photographs of you participating in some of the challenges or work that your child has produced 🙂

If you want to send anything in, email your pictures to alana.speirs@east-ayrshire.gov.uk

Remember everyone, take care at this time, be vigilant of social distancing if out exercising and look after your loved ones,

From all here @ Catrine ECC xxx

Daily timetable

Thank you :)

I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of our parents/carers at Catrine ECC this year. I’ve had a fantastic first year here, I’m just sad it ended for most today as early as it did.

To our children going into Primary 1 in August – we wish you the best of luck. Keep up the hard work you’ll find on this page and don’t forget to come visit us with your uniform on!

To our returning families – we look forward to seeing you back again soon as the “big ones.”

And to my team …. this has been a very challenging week for everyone, including the staff in the ECC. They’ve not only been working under the pressure of staff shortages across the authority but also had the pressures of their own family life, childcare issues themselves and changes in guidance and guidelines daily. They have reported for work each day with your child’s best interests at heart and I am proud to be part of a passionate team like Catrine ECC. I don’t doubt there will be worse weeks to come than the one we’ve just had, however I’m confident with the team we have here that we’ll get through them together with confidence and laughter.

Thank you.

Literacy & Expressive Arts Stay and Play Session

No heating – no problem !

We didn’t let the chilly temperatures get us down on Friday as we carried on regardless with our Stay and Play Sessions.

We kept busy throughout and the children showed super ownership of their ECC as they took parents and carers around the setting exploring their environment both indoors and out.

RSHP Information Session

Fabulous workshops were held today within Catrine ECC providing parents with information about how ECC’s and schools deliver quality teaching around the topics of Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood.

Thank you to everyone who attended.

The Twelve Days Of Christmas – Catrine ECC

We are absolutely thrilled to have been a part of this super Christmas Signing Video alongside other schools and ECC’s within East Ayrshire.

A huge thank you goes to the staff and pupils at Willowbank Primary School for their fabulous idea and hard work at editing all of our clips.
