P5β7 Visit to Skills Station ππ²π₯
This week our P5β7 pupils had the most wonderful opportunity to visit Skills Station, where members of the older generation gather to spend time together, share meals and enjoy activities.
The afternoon was full of fun and laughter as our children mixed with the residents through a range of games and activities. They played draughts, dominoes, word searches, hoop throwing, target ball games, and even joined in with some lively African drumming! The hall was buzzing with energy as pupils and adults worked together, shared stories, and encouraged each other in every challenge.
It was brilliant to see intergenerational learning in action β both groups teaching, sharing and laughing together. Pupils discovered that some of the βold-fashionedβ games are actually really addictive, and a few children even asked if we could get them for the school playground!
A special mention goes to Ava G and Nanci-Rose, who were fantastic at making sure every single resident was included and having fun β they had everyone laughing along with them. Robin and Rhiannon also stepped up with great kindness, helping residents take part in the games and making sure no one was left out.
Even those who were a bit shy at first found themselves joining in, and by the end of the afternoon, smiles and laughter filled the room.
A huge thank you to Skills Station for welcoming us so warmly β it was a truly memorable day for all involved, and we hope to be back again soon. π
