Caring for Creation: St Joseph’s Fruit Tree Adventure
At St Joseph’s, we’ve been busy caring for our fruit trees with the help of Norval, who taught us how trees “breathe in” greenhouse gases like carbon and nitrogen and release oxygen, helping our planet.
We inspected the trees for damage, cleaned up broken branches, and used mulch made from natural materials like cardboard to enrich the soil. This will keep the trees healthy and ready to produce more fruit.
Our Eco Committee has decided to invite Mrs Dampney to our next meeting to share ideas on sustainability and create a plan to clear up our playground/ woodland area.
We’re also collecting old wellies and will be planning a fundraiser for new gardening gloves to support our projects.
Thank you to Norval for inspiring us and to our amazing trees for helping the planet! Together, we’re growing a greener future.
