Celebrating Diversity and Culture Through Art: P5-7 Design Chinese New Year E-Cards 🎨🐍

At St. Joseph’s Primary, we are proud to celebrate diversity, culture, and languages as part of our inclusive curriculum. This term, our talented P5-7 class took on an exciting challenge: designing an e-card to mark the upcoming Chinese New Year, which celebrates the Year of the Snake in 2025.

This competition, organised by CISS (the Confucius Institute for Scotland’s Schools), encourages pupils across Scotland to explore Chinese traditions, learn about Mandarin language and characters, and express their creativity through art.

Our pupils eagerly embraced the task, producing vibrant and imaginative designs that reflected the beauty and symbolism of Chinese New Year. They incorporated elements such as snakes 🐍, bright colours πŸŽ†, and references to 2025, all while exploring the fascinating customs behind the celebration.

Their hard work and enthusiasm have been truly inspiring, and we are incredibly proud of every one of them. Good luck to our pupils as they compete to have their designs featured as the official CISS Chinese New Year e-card! 🌟

The competition promotes a wonderful opportunity to deepen cultural understanding and celebrate the richness of our global community. We thank CISS for providing this platform and look forward to seeing the winning designs announced soon.

Stay tuned for updates – and good luck, P5-7! πŸŽ‰
