Today we combined digital technology with our literacy lesson on clarifying word meanings and got active in the classroom! The groups at the tables worked together with a chapter from our class novel to highlight words that they didn’t know. Primary 7 pupils from Portpatrick and St. Joseph’s R.C. schools travelled together to the Academy for a transition event today. The pupils had the opportunity to make new friendships to support them as they prepare for the next stage of their education. Our pupils had a very busy afternoon taking positive action today. Members of the Eco Committee, Pupil Council and Enterprise groups met to action plan for positive outcomes for our school. Head Teachers from the other two Catholic schools in our authority came to visit our school today. Primary 5 – 7 have been learning all about the nutrients we need to be healthy. We have been finding out what influences us to eat certain foods. We have been exploring and tasting Scottish foods.
