Pupil Voice in Action

Our pupils had a very busy afternoon taking positive action today. Members of the Eco Committee, Pupil Council and Enterprise groups met to action plan for positive outcomes for our school.

Mrs Mann is leading the Eco Committee. The children are just starting their Eco Schools journey and carried out an environmental review of our school building and grounds to identify which three targets they would like to take forward for improvement as part of the Eco Schools Scotland Flag award. They will report back on their findings and decide an action plan. You can find out more about Eco Schools Scotland here.

Mrs Anderton met with the Pupil Council. The children got busy discussing ideas to achieve our Bronze Rights Respecting Schools award. Mr Webb from Rights Respecting Schools is coming in soon to meet with all the boys and girls, and staff to talk about why knowing about our rights is an important thing for us all. You can find out about the Rights Respecting Schools Award here.

The children discussed lots of other important school matters. Have a look at the minutes of their meeting here.

Miss Lisi met with the Enterprise Group to plan for fundraising ideas for the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund, (SCIAF). The children had lots of suggestions which they are keen to put into action.

Minutes of each meeting will be shared with our families so you can see what responsible citizens and effective contributors our boys and girls are.
