Fantastic results at the interschool Cross Country competition yesterday. After the event being cancelled before the Easter holidays due to bad weather, the Cross Country was able to return on Wednesday, 19th April. Sheuchan Primary sent 15 children from P5-7 to take part in this event. P5 had to run a half mile with Harry Greenhorn coming first for the boys race. P6 ran a mile long course with Murray Ferguson coming 3rd for the boys race and Lacie Craig coming 2nd in the girls race. P7 also ran a mile with Lily Steel taking 1st place and Lainey Gibb coming 2nd place. Bobby Stevenson came third in the boys race. The rest of the team came in the top 20 for their races. A fantastic result overall for our Cross Country Team – we are very proud of you all!

Sheuchan Primary went CRAZY for Comic Relief on Friday, 17^th March. All the children came to school dressed crazy and colourful and there was plenty of crazy outfits on show! Each class took part in fun activities organised by Primary 7. These included a yucky lucky dip, pin the red nose on Ed Sheeran, Red Nose Treasure Island hunt, basketball shoot, face painting, decorate the biscuit and guess the number of marbles in a jar. Amelia from P7 created a fantastic quiz for each class as well. Some teachers were challenged to a building task using cake which was cheered on by pupils. Several children were lucky enough to pie a teacher in the face as well as paint a teacher’s face. All these great activities helped to raise an amazing amount of £455. An exciting and fun day was had by all. Well done everyone!

Well done to the P7 girls who participated in the Curling Bonspiel on Monday, 13th March at the North West Castle. Thank you for taking part especially when it was a school closure day due to a  heating failure. We are delighted to tell you that the girls team came third place overall. Fantastic effort girls!

Primary 7 enjoyed working with Soundtrap as they used laptops to digitally create a song, generated backing sounds to a story as well as producing a podcast.

Mrs Dampney very kindly came to school to help P6 and P7 plant some native trees within the school grounds. We would like to thank Mrs Dampney for helping this morning and for her continued support.

As part of an enterprise project, Primary 7 organised a Burns Supper for P5-7 by writing speeches, making table decorations and organising the entertainment. They planned and cooked a delicious meal of haggis, neeps and tatties as well as recited ‘Address to the Haggis’ and the Selkirk Grace.  Some P7 girls entertained everyone with a Scottish themed cheerleading display. The afternoon was finished off with everyone dancing the Gay Gordons. Well done P7 for a terrific afternoon!
