Children in Need

What a great day we had while raising money for Children In Need on 15th November.  Our ‘dress colourful’ day was most certainly that – lots of colour was evident across the school.

Some children in P5/6: Struan, Erin, Joshua, Tyler, Riley and Laila helped to organise a Bric-a-Brac stall which was loved by all classes. They also organised a lucky dip, name the teddy and a face painting raffle. Katie, Millie & Lucie in P4/5 organised a cake and sweet sale. Through these activities a magnificent amount of ÂŁ579.63 was raised. Well done to everyone who took part.

P2 and The Three Little Pigs

P2 designed and built their own 3 Little Pigs house. They have been co-operating with their classmates to re-enact the events of the story. We have even been developing our imaginations and changing the original ending of the story!

The children were challenged this week to be resilient in programming the Bee Bot robot to reach the target! The children have been determined and have persevered in finding the right codes to programme the robot!

P3 – Fireworks

A lot of Primary 3s saw the Firework display at Agnew Park on Sunday night. This lead into a discussion about keeping safe when near them as well as the noise they make and what they look like. Then Mrs Sweetin asked the boys and girls to explore painting fireworks using glue, salt and paint. The results were a burst of colour of our walls. After that the children wrote haikus to go along with their poems. These are short poems with 3 lines. The first and last line have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. What a great effort and result from all the children in class.
