Hi everybody!

Hi everyone. It’s Esmae here! Today I have been cycling on my bike🚲 while my mum walked Lily on the lead. We went to the Embasy Hotel Gardens🏨 and I cycled around the paths. I had lots of fun going down the hills because there was nobyody there apart from me mum and Lily.  When I got back home mum gave me some maths to do. I’m going to go read my granster granny book. Hope you all have fun and be safe. Bye 😀

Mrs. Madden’s Friday Shortbread

  • 150g/5oz/1 cup plain flour
  • 25g/1oz/3tbsp cornflour
  • 50g/2oz/1/4 cup caster sugar
  • 115g/4oz/1/2 cup butter
  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4 (I have a fan oven so I set mine at 150C).  Brush two baking sheets (or a circular cake tin with a push out base) with a little oil.
  2. Put the flour, cornflour and sugar in a bowl.  Cut the butter into pieces and rub into the flour until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.  Mould to a dough with your hands.
  3. Either, roll out dough on a floured surface to a 5mm thickness or press dough into greased cake tin using the back of a tablespoon and use the back of a fork to decorate around the edges and stab with the fork several times in the centre.  If you have rolled out the dough, stamp out shapes with small biscuit cutters.
  4. Transfer to the baking sheets or put the cake tin in the oven.  Cook the biscuit shapes for 10-12 mins.  Cook the one in the cake tin for about 20 mins.  Once the biscuit shapes are cooked, transfer them to a wire rack to cool.  Once the shortbread in the cake tin is cooked cut it into eight even pieces before it cools, then allow to cool.

Poodle Showdown- Miss Dale v Sam and Sevi

Happy Friday!!

Sam and Sevi’s mum just e-mailed me this great picture of their poodle Bjorn. He looks amazing…ready for Crufts the world’s biggest show dog competition.

And then I thought I’ve got some outstanding poodle pics of Bailey…mainly of him needing a bath!!

Seeing The Bats On The Second Day Of Going To The Woods

After we had been to the woods mum wanted to see the den so we took her and the dog down. We went off to our little campsite and we showed her the den that we had built out of sticks at the edge of a tree. We then took her back to the campsite to see it again and as we did it we saw some bats. We lay down and watched them. They were very cool. When they fly it looks like they are big butterfly’s. When we looked up mum tried to take photos of the bats. It turns out they are NOT easy to take photos of.  When I looked across to Charlie I saw this strange thing…it was like a fox but it was only Selkie.

Rhona And Charlie’s prank

Me and Charlie were little we did 1 prank on people.  Just one we thought would work on them. We would open the door slightly and put a pillow at the top, and balance it. And then we would tell mum and dad that there had been a tea party and they were invited!  And they would come in before me. Once they went in the pillow would fall on them and they would get it on their head!  After that say hahahaha if they are wondering where the tea is and they are sad there is none, just make them some will ya?

(Tip) If your mum and dad say you go first than say you go first. If they get suspicious than just say I will drink all of the tea  and eat all the biscuits if they don’t go in first.(How to avoid this) Always look at the top of the door and see if there is a pillow at the top. If there is open the door with your foot or your hand and don’t go in. Once it has fallen go through you may go.

Fitness

Hi Everyone,

What are you all doing to stay fit and healthy at the moment?

Has anyone been taking part in The Body Coach workouts? Who spotted the differences today?????

Do you have a favourite exercise? We love the Spiderman jumps (although I now have footprint on my wall – thanks Mr Wicks!!) Our least favourite has been the duck legs – ouch!!!!!!!

Who would like to take part in The Body Coach’s Challenge? Come up with 10 different exercises, work out how long you’re going to do each one for and remember to include a rest period.

Here is our fitness plan:

Each exercise should be done for 30 seconds, followed by a 30 seconds rest.

Kangaroo jumps

Army Crawls (stay low, crawl forward then back on knees and elbows)

Spiderman jumps

Shooting star jumps (start low then jump as high as you can to catch the shooting stars)

Duck legs (My children are cruel! Start in a low squat position, walk forward then back staying in squat position)

Plank

Bicycle Sit Ups (start in sit up position, raise opposite elbow to knee)

KungFu Kicks (sound effects are a must!)

Climb the ladder (start in standing position, move arms and legs as if you’re climbing a ladder. How quickly can you go!?)

Bunny Hops

Have a 2 minute rest then repeat.

Post your fitness plan on the blog and we can try them out!

Good luck!

Mrs Jardine
