Genius hour

Genius hour is when p 4/7  have to work on a project.  Tumaini  is working on a knex project.  Olivia is working on a circus project she is learning how to juggle right now. Tumaini is working on  a fairground right now she has built a caracel  and a fariswheel shh is going to build a roller coaster she is going to build it  soon. Olivia is going to let other people be in it with her.

gymnastics

On a big Thursday and after school on Wednesday night  we do gymnastics. at gymnastics we do lots of different types of things such as a forward roll a backwards roll we even jump over the horse .we also do cartwheels log rolls hedgehog roll we also do a dive forward roll. we use to jump onto  the horse and then  onto mats. but now we jump on the spring board over the horse. this is only on the Wednesday after school club we do the after school club with miss B on. a big Thursday we do more gymnastics .but only we have more things to do. like the Balance beam we duck down on the Balance  beam. we walk on it .we go under the balance beam and dangle and see who can hold on the longest.we also have floor mats so if you do not  want to do the thing that your at you can do stuff on the mats.  such as a table you can do forward rolls on them you can also do backwards rolls. last week we were doing skills. we had to do three different skills at the minimum. the most you are aloud to do was 8 different skills.

science

on Tuesday miss dale and her group setup a science experiment it fun . first miss dale talk how make water clean water but it was impossible for us .the mat we use were pot sock,rocks,123456789cotton ,sand and 2L bottle of water with dirt and gross stuff .we got 30mins to do a science experiment ! my partner was joe he was really helpful and kind .we were 2  layer  we were post to do 1 layer and we had to save the water.it was so so fun.

Island survival

On Monday a teacher from north west community campus came and another one came from Lincludin. We were gong to be doing an island survival we got in partners I was with daisy. We got a tray, funnel, beaker, compacted water, sand, stones, pop socks and cotton wool. Then we sat down for about 2 minutes while we got told what to do, we had to find away to make the water cleaner. We had to test every thing separately first then we could mix it up we also had to keep the most amount of water and make it fair (me and daisy used the same amount  of water to make it fair). so we went of to do our task we tested every thing separately then we started to mix it up. The thing that worked well for us was the cotton wool it got all the particles out it was still not safe to drink but it was a bit better so since the cotton wool worked the best for us we kept filtering it through the cotton wool and changed it out a couple times. It was now the end of the lesson so at the start miss dale gave 3 of us a sticker A B or C and we went out with the other teachers and they asked A B or C questions about the lesson.

science

On Tuesday 2 visitors came in and we did science and before the visitors came in we set everything up then we all stood in a line and the person next to you and we all had a partner and worked with them. We had 4 materials witch was cotton wool, gravel, sand, and a sock, we had to try them all and some said the sock and some said cotton wool the sand and gravel didn’t work, so we had to try a combination and my pair finished in only 5 minutes so we spent the other 5 doing the sock and cotton wool they nearly both worked the same, Sometimes miss dale sent us to the carpet to have a little talk about what we’ve done or what we are doing. We used experiment water, cotton wool, sock, gravel, sand, experiment jugs and the time was only 30 minutes for everything, 10 minutes for the color combination, and 2 minutes to try the sock.

natural disaster

There are lots of different natural disasters such as earth quakes , tsunami , tornado , hurricanes , flash flood , sink hole and some times wild fires. An earth quake is formed when two plates rub together. some earth quakes some are so small there unnoticeable. Some can shatter city’s.

sink holes

Sink holes are highly dangers. A sink hole is a very deep hole in the ground. Sink holes can be different width and depth. Sink holes are uncommon. they can’t happen in the UK.

Science Afternoon

Last Monday miss dale told us that she had a trio coming in to do science after lunch…So I got really exited because Love science I couldn’t wait . After we all had lunch we had to whate a wile but they got here eventually. After we got the equipment ready our teacher gave three people a letter A,B,C those people got asked questions abot the experiment.

A horrible threat

As most of you may know, the corona virus is a illness that has no cure and is rapidly turning from a epidemic to a pandemic. (This means that it is going from a few country’s to most country’s). It can feel like a cold to some but can be much worst to others.

Thankfully us in the UK and other places have not felt the full force of this illness yet with only about 51 cases of it.

island survival

So on Monday a teacher from north west community campest and a other teacher from Lincludin came to our school. We did a science project called island survival we were trying to filter the water to make It clean. there was 4 materials sand, rocks, the ends of tights and cotton wool. we all had to partner up and build a filter. The things we started with was a beaker and a funnel and compacted water.

Science class

On Monday miss Dale told us that she had been working with some other teachers from different schools to prepare a science class that each one of them where going to teach there class so on Monday the other teachers came to watch us in our science class. The science class was called Desert island dilemma. It was about decontaminating water with only certain supplies such as rocks, sand, pop socks and some cotton wool.We had to conduct a FAIR test which quite a lot of us didn’t do well  we all made multi layer filters that made the water quite clean but it still wasn’t decontaminated. We had taken all of the big pieces of mud out but there was still little particles of germs in the water. whilst trying to decontaminate the water we also had to conserve the water in the bottles we were given we also done our experiments in beakers and made our filters in the funnels we were given.Me and Cleo got ours quite clean when our time was up.                                                                                                                                                                                                                By Josie
