Charnwood Nursing Home Visit

On Wednesday 7th December P5, P6 and P7 went to Charnwood Nursing Home to spread some Christmas cheer. We sang songs and played games with some of the residents.

Thank you very much to the group of boys and girls from P7 who accompanied our Nursery children today on their walk to Calside Cemetery to lay a wreath at the War Graves. They were extremely helpful and a special thank you for reading the poem Flanders Field.

We have also been very busy making a poppy display for the office.

Calside have been celebrating Halloween by dressing up in amazing Halloween costumes. There have been so many fabulous costumes that we have seen today. Well done to everyone who dressed up we loved to see your amazing creative costumes.

Guid Nychburris

Yesterday it was our pleasure to finally welcome the Guid Nychburris principals to Calside school after two long years. The weather was glorious and everyone was excited to be outside in the sunshine. The children gave the principals a warm welcome and made lots of noise to show their support for the Queen of the South. We all had a great day watching all the horses come past.

Sports Day

Luckily the weather stayed dry albeit chilly, and we managed to have all classes do their Sports Day today. Well done to all the athletes, and bravo to MacAdam who win the Sports Trophy.

Thank you to Miss MacLean and Mrs Stores for organising Sports Day; to Mrs Macdonald for diligently checking the scores; and to the P7 pupils for their help.
