We took part in a drum workshop led by Steve. First of all we did a warm up that involved us clapping and stamping a beat using different parts of our bodies. Then we were all given our own African drum to play. When Steve put his foot on the floor we had to play our drum but if he ran round the room we had to hit the drum as fast as we could. Some people were chosen to lead everyone else through a mini workshop.
We learned that if we hit the side of the drum it makes a higher sound and if we hit the middle it makes a lower sound.
We had lots of fun!
