On Monday Elvis asked us to sort through some different Christmas objects investigating whether or not they were magnetic. The children had lots of fun carrying out this activity and we learned some information about magnets and forces. We love science!
Our trays were full of lots of Christmas things all made of different materials.
The children worked well together recording their findings as they went along.
Today Elvis the Elf set us another challenge! We each had to make a paper chain using only one piece of paper. The person who could make the longest chain was the winner!
Â
The children brainstormed with a partner trying to think of different ways they could make their paper chain longer than everyone else’s.
All of the children worked really hard to try and make their paper chain the longest!
In the end, our winner was Lacey!
“I had to do some problem solving and i noticed that when I cut the paper thinner it meant I could have more loops. But I had to be quick because we didn’t have lots of time! – Lacey”
P2S had an extra special delivery this morning all the way from the North Pole! We are super excited to welcome one of Santa’s elves into our classroom!
Everyone meet Elvis the Elf!
We have been learning about tally marks in our numeracy lessons and we used this knowledge to decide upon a name for our Elf!
We came up with 6 different names that we might like to name our elf.The children took it in turns to vote for their favourite name.
