P3Z – Miss Zorlu

We have had a fantastic start to the session and I look forward to teaching your child throughout the year ahead. I know we will work hard and have lots of fun together!

The following list is for your information.

·         PE will take place on a Monday and Wednesday please ensure pupils have a full gym kit and this is kept in school. Earrings should be removed, if possible, or taped before coming to school. PE kit will be sent home at the end of each term.

·         Art will take place on a Thursday Please feel free to provide your child with a paint shirt to wear to protect their school uniform.

·         Homework will be issued on a Monday to be returned on the Friday. Your child will be given a variety of homework including Literacy, Numeracy and project based tasks in line with their current Context for Learning.  Reading books will be given out on a Thursday and should be returned to school on the following Thursday. Pupils should read the whole book unless otherwise stated.

·         Traffic Lights are used to promote positive behavior in class. There is a behaviour sheet available on the back page of homework jotters to ensure you are aware of any concerns/issues in class.

·         We encourage pupils to drink unflavoured water in school. Please can you provide your child with a labelled bottle of water which they can use throughout the school day.

·         We will use Sumdog in class to support Numeracy. Pupils can also use this at home. All pupils have their own username and password which is in their homework jotter.

Term 1 Aug – Oct

This term, our Context for Learning is a novel study of The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson.

In Numeracy, our main focus will be developing our knowledge of Telling the Time, Place Value and Addition. We will practice number facts in order to achieve quick and accurate recall.

Keep up-to-date with all of our learning in P3Z by following the school twitter account – @abercrombyps. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions either by letter, through the school office or speak to me at 3 o’clock. Thank you for your support throughout the year.

Thank you,

Miss Zorlu
