Clackmannanshire Council

Every local authority is required to have a Parental Involvement and Engagement  Strategy (PIE), in line with Section 2(1) of the Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006.

Clackmannanshire’s PIE Strategy was due for review. We have worked closely with colleagues, parents, and partners to refresh it.

In March, we issued a PIE survey to all establishments to gather views and insights from parents/carers, which have helped shape the updated strategy. The revised PIE Strategy 2025–2028 outlines how we will meet our statutory duties, including:

  • Involving and meaningfully engaging parents in their child’s education
  • Providing advice and information to parents about their child
  • Supporting the establishment and operation of Parent Councils
  • Considering the needs of care-experienced children
  • Promoting equal opportunities and inclusivity for all parents
  • Establishing a complaints procedure aligned with the revised Complaints Handling Procedure (2012)

The strategy will be reviewed and monitored over the next three years to ensure effective implementation.
