On the 21st of February we will be holding an internet safety night where we get more in depth about how to be safe online.We will show you our e-books we have been working on with Mrs Maclean every Monday. The internet safety evening is at 7 o’clock on a Wednesday the 21st of February. Anybody is welcome to come to our internet safety evening we hope to see you there.   By Rhys and Freya

P6/7 are starting this new system that is were we all get a job a week . We are doing the jobs so we have some responsibilities for the class room E.G the jobs are lunches,  messengers, walls, technology, bloggers, hand outerers, sink photocopiers and  tidiers .

We started play leaders on the 17/1/18 and did it for four weeks then on the fifth week we are doing a test.Play leaders is to help us develop leader ship skills. What we do is on a Wednesday we go to the hall in the afternoon until the end of the day.We got a log book and inside it was a word called step S is for space T time E equipment and P was for people and each letter had their own page. We played some games to help us learn to sort people in to groups and ideas for games. After we have done the test we can show the smaller kids how to play the games and to play themwith their friends. The person who trains us is  Shona Park,she is from Aberdeenshire Active Schools.

The P6 and 7s get a chance to do volunteering hours to get an award . They have to volunteer in or out of school and record it on a sheet of paper.Here are some of the things that you can do : tidy the library ,pupil council,rights respecting group,helping the teachers with jobs and giving up your golden time to play with younger pupils.Volunteering is good because it helps people and you learn new skills.

In P.E we have been using the big equipment and some people in are class have been setting up the equipment with Mrs Munro.

We are setting up  a new playground ground group that consists of pupils,parents and teachers.They will do stuff to help the behaviour in the playground and will decide if new rules and equipment should be introduced into the playground.If you would like to be involved in the group ask or contact Mrs Duckworth. We think this is a good idea

For 2 weeks our topic is weather and for our topic we have to find out the climate in a different country .We are doing this through Mrs Beaton’s friend’s grandchildren in Australia. They live on the Gold Coast near Brisbane. We are going to send them emails to find out about the weather and average temperatures in Australia. We are also going to tell them about the average temperature in Ballater.

We have been making E books my partners were Shanien and Leonna.  Ryszard’s partner was Caitlyn. The E-books were about internet safety and to teach adults and children how to keep safe on the internet.The P6/7 class and p5/6 class all made E-books in partners and the E-books will be shared on the 21st of February at seven o’clock at Ballater school.By Jackson and Ryszard

Over the last two weeks we have been learning about internet safety, and have made an e-book about it. we made the e-book with Mrs Maclean on Mondays and Wednesdays. We made them in pears and i were with Findlay. We used a  website called kidsmart. We are going to show them to our parents on an internet safety evening.

This term our context has been about safety.We have been doing things about how to stay safe online.Also we made Haiku poems about online safety and just normal safety.When we were learning about online safety we learnt about what to put online and what not to. We also learned how to say no to people who are making us uncomfortable.
