Science Experiments In Class

In class our new topic is forces and we are focusing on gravity, friction and magnetism. We were doing some experiments in class , so far we have done experiments to do with gravity and electrostatic force. For gravity we have dropped play dough from a certain height and mesuared the flat serfice. We found out that the higher you drop it from the bigger the flat bit is. We also rolled a golf ball, tennis ball and a ping pong ball down a ramp and saw which would go the furthest. For the electrostatic experiments we had a carousel of experiments that we went around  , there was lots of different experiments my favourite one was the one were you rub a tube on a bit of fur or wool and put it next to a can and it will attract the can.

The Pantomime

On Tuesday the 19th of December Ballater school along with lots of other schools went into Aberdeen to see the Pantomime. The Pantomime was Aladdin and it was very good. It was 2 hours long and half way through it we got vanilla ice cream. Some people chose to bring there own snack. It was a hour and a half there and a hour and and a half back. We saw it at His Majesties Theatre. It was hilarious and there was a big robotic snake at the start and about half way through there was a really funny part with a ” Apple watch “.       By Rhys

Scratch

On Scratch, which is a coding website I made a “would you rather?” with 8 questions. It was very fun to make and I recommend people try and do some code because it is very fun. The “would you rather?” was hard to make. Click here to play the “would you rather?” Hope you enjoy it. ( This does not work on iPads. )   By Rhys

Our Assembly includes power points about food banks and a poem about a bramble, bat and seagull wich is about resilience . We also talk about the Unicef Rights of a Child and particularly Article 31 which is “every child has the right to relax , play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities”. We are performing it on the 9th of October at school for the pupils and on the 12th of October for the parents.                 By Rhys
