On Sunday the 11th of March Kate, Ryszard, Anna, Caitlyn and I went to Aboyne Primary School to talk about internet safety. It started at 1:00 and ended at 1:30. I did talked first, then Caitlyn, then Kate, then me again, then Ryszard, and then finally Anna. This was similar to what we did in school but with less people but we were louder. I did the intro then Caitlyn talked about cyber bullying. Then we watched a eight minute video. Then Kate talked about the do’s and don’ts of making an online profile. Then Ryszard talked about making a password and what was a good password and we showed the audience good and bad passwords and a password checker. Then Finally Anna talked about app restrictions and she did the end. I really enjoyed talking about internet safety on Sunday and I hope I get to do something similar again.

In class our new topic is forces and we are focusing on gravity,friction and magnetism. We were doing some experiments in class , so far we have done experiments to do with gravity and electrostatic force. For gravity we have dropped play dough from a certain height and mesuared the flat serfice. We found out that the higher you drop it from the bigger the flat bit is. We also rolled a golf ball, tennis ball and a ping pong ball down a ramp and saw which would go the furthest. For the electrostatic experiments we had a carousel of experiments that we went around  , there was lots of different experiments my favourite one was the one were you rub a tube on a bit of fur or wool and put it next to a can and it will attract the can.

The P7s have made some progress in getting the money for our hoodies. We have decided that we are going to have a gadget golden time on the last Thursday of the term, and some of us have made some posters about it. Also we are going to sell tea towels with the small pictures of yourself that you drew a while ago, and we hope to get the tea towels arranged by Wednesday this week.

Some of the p5s and 6s went skiing again for the time that they missed earlier on in the year.We went on the 5th of March we had to remember what we learned from the last session.

Last week we did stories using personification and I was really happy with the way mine turned out and I think it might be the best story I’ve ever written. My story was about a ten pound note who lived in a handbag and was the only one who had ever been taken out of the bag and returned alive. I learnt what personification was it is basically when in story someone says an object speaks as an example the table groaned under the weight of the books and paper the personification being the table ”groaned” but the table didn’t actually groan.

In class we have been learning about coding. We visited a app called light bot hour of code and we enjoyed it very much. It teaches you the basics of coding helps you understand them. Its basically a series of tutorials that gat more difficult as you play. I have visited this site lots because it is so fun and addictive.

It works on both computer and iPad/i phone but on the phone and iPad you have to download it.

On Wednesday the 21st of  February  there was a internet safety meeting. Some P 5, 6 and 7’s got to speak there. Kate, Anna, Paige, Ranolph, Wynn, Finn, Caitlyn, Ryszard, and Me (Cato). I did the introduction, Paige talked about cyber-bullying then we watched a video about being safe online. Then Kate and Ranolph talked about the do’s and don’ts of making and online profile. On Tuesday the P7s had a meeting after school to talk about the hoodies that we are going to get.We talked about fundraising ideas to make money for the hoodies.We estimated the prices for each hoodie and we hope that we raise . By Poppy and Kirsty

In P7 annually there is a quiz around Deeside that all the cluster schools compete in. The people that have been chosen to win are Findlay, Ranolph, Kirsty and Cato and the reserve is Kate. The quiz is on the 15th of March. This year we hope to do one better than last year’s team who were second.
