Nursery News

In the nursery  they have been getting ready for Easter. They have made little bunny rabbits out of plastic cups and paper.  Inside these bunny’s there will be a surprise and they will get to take them home on Thursday.  They were making lovely Easter egg paintings and made stunning flower pictures. They also have been making cute little chicks that are hanging up in the nursery.

Nursery pupils are also looking forward to a bike parade and at home they have made Easter hats at home for their bike parade. After their bike parade they will be having a tea party for the parents.

Nursery Investigate the World of Water

On Friday the 17th of January 2015, the nursery children went on a trip to the secondary pond. Their project is about water . They went to the secondary pond to get ideas for their own pond.

The nursery children are making their own pond in their playing yard. In their pond they have put sticks, water, fish and ducks. (Not real ducks.) They put heavy logs and stones around it to stop them from falling in.

They learned that they need water to drink, to wash hands and to bath.

Nursery News!

The nursery have been learning about water.

They decided that they wanted to make a pond in their garden. To find out more about making a pond they went to The Gordon Schools and saw their pond and that gave them a big inspiration about what they wanted to do with their pond. They have been working as a team to make a little pond in the garden and have put a lot of things into the pond. They are learning how to keep the pond nice and tidy.

The nursery children have been learning about washing their hands. They have been making a lot of things and learning about what happens to objects when they go into the water. They  have also been learing about sinking and floating. They have been putting lots of different objects into the water and watching and talking about what happens to the objects. They have been reading a book called “I don’t want to have a bath,”  about  a young tiger who doesn’t want to have a bath. The nursery children enjoyed that book and they have made pictures and all sorts of stuff to do with the story. Now they are reading a new story called “The Whale and the Snail”  which is about about things under the sea.

Children in need

To support Children in Need most of the school turned up in spots and stripes. We also raised lots of money as a school out of 1 and 2p coins – over £400!! With all of the money we managed to fill up a whole recycling bin. Some of the costumes were  brilliant.

The  Nursery children were also  getting busy for children in need. They were colouring in Pudseys,  face painting and making biscuits.
