Open Evening

On the 11th of March the school held an Opening Evening. Parents and other family members had the chance to look around all the classrooms with their children.  Some of theprefects helped and they were a great help. Primary 4’s organised a Fairtrade teas and coffee stall, in aid of Water Aid. Primary 4 pupils served cakes and biscuits and some staff served teas, coffees and juices. This was a great success. They also organised a raffle, and the P4’s helped write out the tickets and fold them. We raised over two hundered pounds. The choir sang some songs in the small hall as well.

Football Club can’t wait until Spring!

Gordon Primary football club has a good team of students from Gordon Primary School. Commonly about 13 people come to the club, but there used to be about 17 people who used to come to the club. Ecstatic Mr Lumsden can’t wait until spring so they can go down to the football pitch. The football club has a waiting list so no more people can sign up. The club is for pupils from P4 to P7. It starts at 4:00 and it finishes at 5:00. Gordon Primary is going to start a tournament at this school. The last tournament was in 2013 in August.

Doric Poems

Pupils from Primary 4 to 6 have been busy learning  Doric poems. Doric is the dialect spoken by people in the North East of Scotland.

Each year pupils in the school learn a Doric poem off by heart. The best three poems from each class will perform their poems at assembly and some winners will go to Balhousie Care Home and perform their poem to the residents there.

Here is one of the Doric Poems the P5 pupils are learning;

Christmas parties

As usual, the Christmas parties were a great success.
Primary 1 to 6 held their parties in the large hall, taking part in social dances, which they had been learning in the preceding weeks, and games.
The primary 7 dance was held in the evening. P7s and their guests had great fun dancing The Gay Gordons, Boston Two Step, The Dashing White Seargant and many other dances. They enjoyed refreshments of sausage rolls, crips and jelly and ice cream, and then returned to more energetic dances and games!
