Jacobite assembly

The last two weeks has been class assemblies. The primary five have been doing jacobites for their project and two weeks ago thay did part one and last week they did the second part it was fantastic so well done. Half of the class were jacobites and the rest were red coats. Some of the primary fives showed us their own handmade blackhouse models and they were fantastic. There was quite a few people wearing a red thing if they were  the redcoats  and some of the jacobite were wearing something tartin. Everyone was great at singing the songs. Well done!

Museum of “Old Things”

Primary 1I organised a museum of “Old Things”. They asked family members, including grannies and granddads,  to contribute items to the museum. The contributions had to be older than 30 years. They collected some fascinating items, including a very old christening gown, a Sootie glove puppet, a thrupenny bit and an old tricycle.

Ethan brought in his great granny’s helmet that she wore in the war.

Classes went to visit the museum. The children found it very interesting. Teachers also enjoyed looking at the exhibits, and recognised a few items from their own childhood!
