Shoeboxes for Romania

This  year we collected a phenomenal 102 shoeboxes!  Lots of people handed in a shoebox and bits and bobs to put in them. Mrs McIntosh’s class expertly  packed all of the boxes that needed filled up a bit and also created some more from the bits and bobs. Six primary 7 volunteers loaded the shoeboxes into a large jeep and now they are on their journey to Romania. Lots of pupils donated £2.00 towards the charity “Vision Romania .”  This money will go towards the cost of transporting the boxes to Romania, where they will be given to orphaned Romanian children for Christmas. The Huntly Express came to photograph the boxes being loaded into the jeep.

Thank you to everyone involved in contributing to and organising the shoeboxes!

World War Two Day

The primary sevens went to the World War Two Day, which was in the secondary. This happened on the Tuesday before the holidays. The whole year came to school in clothes that we thought the children back then would of worn. They all went over to the secondary at 10:15 and came back at 2:30.

When they first went into the hall, they went straight into 1939 mode! The teacher, picked a boy and a girl and made them count everyone and then sit them down in their seats without a single noise! The p7s were given a spelling test and a maths test, many people found it tricky. They then did some maths and it was VERY hard! They were then brought back to 2014, everyone sighed in relief. For the rest of the time, they were learning all about the war. Everyone had a really fun time and most of them want to do it again!
