Keith And Pam Cockburn

Before our  Easter holidays, Keith and Pam Cockburn came into Gordon Primary to work with Primary 5. The workshops, which ran over 4 weeks, were organised by Deveron Arts. P5 learned a lot of different songs including a few connected to their project the Jacobites. Those songs were called: Ye Jacobites By Name and the Skye Boat Song. Some of the other songs that they learned were called:Murder In The Chip Shop, Ye Cannie Shove Yer Granny, 3 Craws ,  Me Maws A Milionaire, Loch Lomand, Wild Mountain and many others. Keith And Pam were lovely people. Keith plays the Guitar, and Pam plays the Violin.

Musical Assembly

The whole school enjoyed a musical assembly on the last day of term.

The orchestra played as the classes came in, and also played a fsongs that they have been learnins during the assembly. Children (and staff)  particularly enjoyed the clashing cymbals during their rendition of Greigs “Hall of the Mountain King”.

Next we all enjoyed listening to P5 singing Scottish songs with Keith Cockburn, accompanied by Pam Cockburn on fiddle. They sang Ye Jacobites by Name and the Skye Boat Song,  and then finished off with Murder in the Chipshop.

More music followed with the choir singing for us. Among the songs were Alexanders Ragtime band and Annies song.

P3 Easter Extravaganza

Don’t be fooled by the name it really was a extravaganza!!!!

P3 were in the spotlight on the Tuesday before the holidays. Amazing singing and dancing from all of the p3s. All of the blogger team enjoyed it, did you enjoy it?

All of the p3  remembered their lines and enjoyed themselves

Three cheers for the P3s!!!:)

The play was about the Easter story. They all dressed up to make it more life like.

The p3’s did one performance for the school and the following day another one for parents. Both performances were excellent!
