P4, P4/5, P5 Christmas Concert 2014

Today we welcomed mums, dads, babies, grannies, granda’s, aunties, uncles and family friends into the school to see the P4, P4/5 and P5 Christmas Concert.

This was the culmination of a lot of hard work from the pupils, their teachers, our janitor, the PSAs and parents at home.

The performance was described as a heart-warmer, a wonderful event and as a tear-jerker.

Here are the P5s singing a song to wish everyone a Happy Christmas from Africa.

Primary 5s also wished everyone a Happy Christmas from Japan.

Our three kings delivered presents.

The P4/5s came from India to wish everyone well.

The dancing from the P4s was super.

Yeeha!! Get your cowboy boots on!

Christmas, Light and dark

We are making origami Christmas trees  to put on cards and give to other people.  We made Christmas cards with our handprints on them with Mr Cordiner.  We had a Christmas party in the hall on Tuesday afternoon and we ate some snacks.  We played lots of games at the Christmas party.  We have two advent calendars in the classroom.  One is chocolate and one is pictures.

We put cress seeds on wet cotton wool and we put one tub in some light and put one tub in the dark cupboard.  We were put into groups to do it.  We talked about whether the seeds would grow in the dark or in the light and we are going to look at them this afternoon.  We had to work out what would grow in the dark and what wouldn’t.    We are wondering which will grow and which will not.

Cinderella and Rockerfella

Everyone is really enjoying the rehearsals for the Cinderella  Rockerfella Pantomime and we can’t wait to perform infront of an audience. All we need to do is practice a little more to ensure we all know our lines and come in at the right time. The scenery crew are working hard on the backdrop and the props. We are all very excited about performing on the 19th of December to family and friends.

Here is a sneek preview of the ugly sisters practicing their routine.

The ugly sisters are having a great time!

Mrs. Emmerson’s Christmas Enterprise Event

For P6’s Enterprise event at Ellon Primary with Mrs Emmerson, we are making Jigsaw Wreaths and Rudolph made out of craft sticks. A couple of people from the class  phoned up the Craft Hoose personally to order the sticks. Each class was given £50 pounds to spend on equipment/ingredients, and was advised to spend it wisely! We are all very excited about the event coming up on the 20th of December. We hope to make more than what it cost to make the products.
