maths work

P2 have been learning about counting in tens and counting bundles.  We have been counting tens and units and we have been learning about counting up to 100.  Most of us  are finding it quite easy!  We have been playing number bingo.

P3 have been learning about subtracting and adding hundreds and tens up to 1000.  It is quite hard but we think were are getting the hang of it!  We have been very successful.  We played a game on the smartboard with 3 small penguins and one big penguin.  We had to move the penguins to the right place.  The small penguins were throwing snowballs at the big penguin.  We had to put the penguins on the numbers up to 1000.

Dog Art

This week  we have been learning about an artist called Michel Keck.  He is a dog artist.  He draws dogs and he puts on collage.  We talked about the unusual pictures and thought they were very colourful and outstanding.  We thought that you wouldn’t see them every day!  Some of us didn’t like them.  We tried to copy them and drew some dogs.  We put lots of colours on and we stuck on some bits of paper.  We put in lots of detail.  The pictures we made were brilliant!!

Nintendogs

We have heard about Nintendogs and played them on the DS. We had to look at dogs and then buy them.  We had to teach them their names.  Some people thought it was easy and some people thought it was hard! We had to teach them to sit but some were stubborn, wouldn’t listen and wouldn’t sit! We made some fabulous profiles for our pets.  We have enjoyed playing with our faithful pets.  We started making a dog animation on the computer.  We had to work with a partner. We are thinking about making a pet shop in the corner of the classroom.

The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch

We heard about the lighthouse keepers lunch and we’ve been learning about it.  We made some cheese and jam sandwiches and ate them! We made some seagulls and hung them on the ceiling. We made Mr Grinling’s lighthouse light work.  We worked as a team to light the light. We put a battery in the battery holder and then we got two crocodile clips and clipped the two sides of the battery.  Next we connected them to the screws on the bulb. The bulb lit up.
