Monifieth High School UCAS Guide 2024

Student Finance

Once you have secured an offer for a place at university, you are eligible to apply for student finance.

For most people, this will be through SAAS.

Currently, SAAS will pay tuition fees of Scottish students applying to Scottish universities.  If you choose to study elsewhere, you must pay your own fees but can apply for a non-income-based loan to cover the cost of these fees.  Check your eligibility here.

Student loans and bursaries for living fees are also available and full details of the application process are available on the SAAS web site.  The bursaries are usually calculated on parental income and will vary from person to person.  If successful, these will be paid along with an annual loan.

Applications should be made online by the end of June to ensure that funding is available before the start of your course.
