REPORTING

Reporting informs parents of progress and will be through a range of approaches:

dscn0288  dscn0295  dscn0309

Learning Wall Displays            Learning Journey          Learner Led Conferences

Additional to a report in P7 and S3 your child will create a ‘profile’ which is a statement which publicly recognizes your child’s best achievements in school, at home and in the community. Please spend time looking over and discussing the profile with your child.

**Reporting to parents was an area of the School Improvement Plan 2017/18**

Following consultation this session with pupils, staff and parents please find the guidance documents on reporting.

ASSESSMENT

Assessment is crucial to tracking progress, planning next steps, reporting and involving parents and children in learning. Your child’s progress is not only based on ‘tests’ but on the learning that takes place within the classroom and in different settings out with the classroom. Evidence of progress can be gathered by children themselves, and by fellow pupils (peers), parents, teachers and other professionals.

A number of approaches are employed including the following:

Self-assessment—children are encouraged and supported to look at and revisit their own work, to develop a better understanding of what they have learned, and what they need to work on

Peer assessment – children are encouraged and supported to work together to help others assess what is good about their work and what needs to be worked on

Learning Journey Folders – children, teachers and parents will work together to develop planning for next steps in learning

Profiles – a statement of achievements both within and out with school for P7 pupils only

…where pupils, staff and families REACH FOR THE STARS!
