Sports Day

We all tried our best at sports day and enjoyed having our families present to cheer us on. We have been learning to move with increasing accuracy and to throw and catch.   Sports day was a great opportunity for us to show off our new skills. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

Chicks

The chicks have been growing fast and we all continue to take very good care of them. We recently gave them names: Rico, Monster Truck, Pipin, Butterfly, Bluebell, Little Sunshine Blue, Susie Sunshine, Billa and Tinkerbell. We clean them out and feed them every day. As they are bigger now we also try to put them in an empty paddling pool each day. We like watching them run and flap around.

The best bit about having the chicks has been the cuddles! We cuddle them each day and are becoming more confident in handling them and talking to them.

The Big Toddle

On 1st June we all took part in the ‘Big Toddle for Baranardo’s’. We raised a fantastic total of £938.18! We walked around the perimeter of the school and through the woods. The morning class were very lucky with the weather and managed to complete an outdoor obstacle course and have snack outside. Unfortunately, the weather was wet and windy for the afternoon class, but that did not dampen their spirits!

Thank you to everyone for your very generous contributions!

The boys and girls were absolutely delighted to watch new chicks emerge from their eggs today.  We have all been trying hard to use quiet voices and gentle hands.  We found out that chicks have a special tooth for pushing their way out and have been learning that hatching is a very tiring job! Tomorrow we hope to move the chicks to their new, bigger box. We will then start feeding and cleaning them every day.  We are all absolutely thrilled with our new friends!
