Please note that tomorrow we will be having a ‘Pick ‘n’ Mix’ snack instead of the fruit platter. This is due to unforeseen changes in the snack delivery. Thank you.
We have started printing of some photographs that parents have uploaded onto the Interactive Learning diaries of learning at home. Please feel free to upload any photographs of any learning that takes place at home whilst logged in to the Interactive Learning Diaries. You could look on the ‘Look at me Learning at Home’ wall to get ideas for things people have uploaded. Some parents have chosen to upload photographs of visits to farms, baking experiences, sledging, painting etc.
It is lovely for the staff to see what the children get up to at home and it gives us an ideal opportunity to build upon home learning within the nursery.
The nursery boys and girls loved having a new soup to try for snack. It was a very popular soup and extremely easy to make. You can find the recipe by clicking here. We also tried omitting the lentils for some children and it was equally as tasty.
The next nursery focus group meeting will take place this Thursday. Parent members: please collect the agenda from your child’s tray.
Items to be discussed are:
Feedback from the Interactive learning diaries
Parental involvement on trips, forest sessions and curricular events
Future events and trips
Please talk to a member of the nursery staff if you would like to join the nursery focus group and are available this Thursday. We are particularly looking for am parents. Chocolate biscuits are provided! 🙂
Minutes from the meeting will be posted on the Blog and in the nursery corridor next week.
Mrs Duncan will be available on Thursday 10th March to provide support to parents who are not managing to access the interactive learning diaries. This will take place at nursery between 8.30 – 9am for the morning session, and 12.25-12.55 for the afternoon session.
Please ensure you have shared your problems logging on with a member of the nursery team before attending. This will enable Mrs Duncan to have time to investigate. Letters of registration must be taken to the help session.
Please remember that Cults Nursery operates a strict policy for children returning to nursery after episodes of vomiting and diarrhoea. Children are not able to return to nursery until 48 hours after the last sickness or diarrhoea episode. For example, if a child was sick at 9am on Monday morning, he or she would not be able to return to nursery until the Wednesday pm session or the Thursday am session at the earliest.
These policies follow the guidance of Aberdeen City Council and are designed to curb the spread of infections. As you can imagine, germs spread quickly in nursery. Please help us keep our nursery staff and children healthy by ensuring you follow this policy.
We are going to be trialling using the Blog to share our policies of the month. This will replace the paper copies of policies that we have previously used in nursery. We hope that this will allow all parents more time to read the policy whilst reducing unnecessary paper waste. We would strongly welcome your thoughts on using the Blog to share the policies – please share your feedback by replying to this comment.
If you have not already done so, please try logging onto the interactive Learning Diary portal using the information that was sent home. Please inform a member of the nursery staff if you are unable to log in successfully. You can also add any comments, questions or suggestions to our new Interactive Learning Diary wall display. You will see this opposite the main nursery door. Thank you.
