We plan to have a nursery trip on Thursday 30th March. This will be for all morning and afternoon children and will take place in the morning at the beach. There will be no afternoon session on this day.
We hope to have 80 parents, nannies, Grandparents, aunties etc helping on the trip. Please keep this day free if possible. More information to follow. Thank you!
To celebrate World Book day this Thursday please encourage your child to bring his/her favourite book to nursery. We will be giving the children an opportunity to share these stories with their friends throughout the nursery session. Please ensure all books are clearly named. Thank you.
We will be offering parents the opportunity to come to nursery to play with their children. Look out for the ‘Stay and Play Parent Charter’ coming out this week. Please ensure you sign and return the charter to nursery by Friday 24th February. You will then be given the opportunity to sign up for play sessions the following week.
The play sessions will be on a Wednesday this term. They will take place on 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th March . We look forward to welcoming you to nursery for a play soon!
We had lots of fun exploring the snow. We went sledging, built snowmen, had snowball fights and made snow angels. We were so lucky to have huge puddles and snow all in the same week – it was ideal for our weather topic! 🙂
We are delighted to have introduced the parent app for the ILDs this week. Please see the letter that was sent home to tell you more about this.
The app allows you to get notifications to your device when an observation of your child is uploaded. It also enables nursery to quickly and easily send you key messages and reminders for nursery events.
Please see Mrs Duncan if you are having difficulties with any aspect of the ILDs.
We have been exploring different science and sensory concepts in our play over the last fortnight. We have made moon sand, snowdough and a sensory valentine’s tray.
I think we can all blame Peppa Pig for the muddy fun we had in nursery today! 🙂
We all had lots of fun splashing in the puddles and using measuring maths words like ‘deeper, shallower, wider and longer.’ The majority of us were eager to get very muddy and we seemed to have a secret competition to see which child could get the muddiest.
We all tried hard to change our clothes independently after our muddy adventures. We are all getting better at this – please keep encouraging this at home.
After our muddy walk we warmed up with some hot chocolate, a story and some songs. A great day! 🙂
This week we have been enjoying playing a numbers website on the Touch TV. Please click here to try feeding the teddy bears using your counting skills.
We have been having lots of fun using the ‘website of the week’ in nursery this week. We have been learning how to correctly sequence numbers. You can click here to try the website. Try starting with sequencing to 5 before progressing onto sequencing to 10. The sequencing to 10 section offers a significant challenge as it does not include all of the numbers to 10 – many of us have found this quite tricky in nursery. We have really enjoyed playing this game this week. Older children and siblings could try some parts of the game too.
Many of the children will have ILD uploads related to this.
