Library Club
Some of our class have been going to library club at playtime instead of going outside. Here are some of them enjoying their books.
Week Beginning 19.9.16
This is a short week. We are in school from Monday to Thursday due to the September holiday weekend on Friday 23rd and Monday 26th. Hope you all enjoy the break.
Reading – The children will get 2 new books this week on Monday and Thursday.
Maths
C – Counting in 2s
L – Keep practicing the addition learn its doubles 1-9 +2 +3
I – Fact Families e.g. 2+9=11, 9+2=11, 11-2=9, 11-9=2
C – Calculations addition and subtraction
Our focus for written number work this week is addition and subtraction again.
French – This week we will focus on the weather. We will be responding to Quel temps fait-il? – What is the weather like?
Il fait beau – it is nice weather
Il fait mauvais – it is bad weather
Il fait chaud – it is hot
Il fait froid – it is cold
Homework – Our spelling pattern this week is u-e. Please write each word 3 times and choose 2 words and write a sentence with each. Spelling test will be on Thursday this week so homework should be completed by then. Some of the children have an extra spelling challenge this week in their homework book.

Topic – The children have decided on our topic for the rest of this term and next term. We are going to find out about Ancient Egypt and the Egyptians.

Our pupil of the week is Rachel. She has been doing really well with her maths and her Beat That scores.
