Homework for 3.12.18

Spelling – Revise spelling words using a method of your choice. Choose a method that you think will be the best to help you learn the words.

Maths 

  1. Practise your times tables on Meteor Multiplication https://www.coolmath4kids.com/math-games/meteor-multiplication
  2. Look around your house or the house of a family member. Can you find 10 everyday objects which are cubes or cuboids? Write a list, sketch or print out pictures of what you find.

ICTOPTIONAL EXTRA. Practise logging onto Google Classroom from home and complete the secret task. If you are having difficulty logging in, see Miss McCormick for username and password help.

Christmas Show Learn the words and actions for both songs, ‘Dear Santa’ and ‘We Three Kings’, off by heart. We kindly request pupils bring in the following items for their costume in a clearly named bag by Wednesday 5th December, in time for the first dress rehearsal.

  • Red top, shirt or dress
  • Jeans (or navy tights if wearing a dress)
  • Santa hat if you have one at home

Spelling – No new spelling words this week! You will be tested on 15 words from the words you have had since the October holidays. Learn all the words you have had so far then get someone to help you do a practise test in your jotter.

ReadingContinue reading the novel you have been given. The novel and reading tasks are due in on Monday 26th November.

  1. Write a new blurb for the book you are reading making it sound as exciting as you can.
  2. Instead of using numbers for each chapter in the book you have read, give each chapter a name (or first eight chapters if your book is very long).
  3. Optional Extra: Make a WANTED poster for the villain in your story. Include a physical description and a reward for information.

Maths

  1. Design a robot which is made up of only irregular 2D shapes. Write down the shapes you have used.

This week we have been reciting poems for National Poetry Day. We were reading poems and acting them out. We have made emojis and we had Grow a Fiver . I really enjoy playing my brothers stall, I won 2 times!
