Science

This week we finished making our musical instruments using recycled materials. Each group had to make an instrument with at least two strings and each string had to have a different pitch. Once everyone had finished, each group explained what they had made and played/plucked their instrument(s) to demonstrate the high and low pitches.

Arts Across Learning Festival 2019

As part of the Arts Across Learning Festival 2019, Shirin Karbor came and delivered a workshop on Tuesday morning on creating characters through drawing. Pupils were given their own sketchbook and able to experiment with their own ideas and create their own character. The sketchbooks  will be used in future lessons in school.

On Wednesday afternoon, we were lucky to go to a second event through the festival. The P5 classes and P6S watched a performance of Pond Life by the Catherine Wheels Theatre Company. Everybody enjoyed the performance and was able to discuss the issues and ideas from the play in our classes.
