Port Charlotte at Mod Dhalriada

Mòd Dhailriada 2013

On the 21st of September we went to the Lochgilphead Mòd for a day trip. The choir went to sing in the unison competition and the puirt a beul. We came third in the unison competition and in the puirt a beul we came joint first along with Bowmore Primary School.

The soloists Amy Want , Lauren Young and Lily Ann Doyle did really well. Amy and Lauren came joint fifth in the 9 – 10 competition. Lily Ann came third in the 11 – 12 competition. Lily Ann also got the highest marks in Gaelic along with three other competitors. The four competitors that got the highest marks in Gaelic will receive a trophy, it will be passed around equally.

We would like to thank Mrs Keogh , Mrs.Young, Mrs McLellan and most of all Mrs Currie. If we didn’t have these people we couldn’t have gone. We had a brilliant day singing, shopping and playing. We would also like to thank Graham Allison from the Port Charlotte hotel and the Islay Quilters for donating money towards our choir and trip.
