On the 15th of August 2013 a lady called Sue Morrison came from Strathclyde University to talk to us about how to properly do an interview.
On the white board she let us listen to bad interviews and what we should not do during an interview.
I found it very interesting and useful advice.
On Monday the 19th of August we all went to the Burgh Hall to interview four people who were in Dunoon when the Americans came or were one of the Americans.
When we walked in, the room was full of number plates, pictures and lots of other things.
After we had time to look around we all sat on the floor ready to start the interview.
First we interviewed Linda & Gerry Pursley.
Linda was a teenager when the Americans came and Gerry was one of the Americans who came to Dunoon.
Next we interviewed Audrey MacDougall.
Audrey was a lady who lived in Dunoon at the time the Americans came.
Some of the American wives who came to Dunoon taught her how to sew.
Lastly we interviewed John Touhill.
He was one of the Americans who came to Dunoon.
We had a really fun morning.
That afternoon a lady called Sandi Kiehlmann came into our class and told us that we were going to make something to do with when the Americans came to Dunoon to be put up in the Burgh Hall.
We all decided to make a quilt with pictures of American food and drinks.
On the 22nd of August we started to draw pictures to put on the quilt.
I drew a picture of Baskin Robbins ice cream.
Once we had finished drawings Sandi brought in printable fabric.
After that I practised my sewing.
The next day we started to sew all the pictures together, in-between some we put pieces of tartan.
The finished quilt looked amazing!!!!!
I really enjoyed doing this project.
