Some of our Primary 6 and 7 pupils were delighted to hear that they had been awarded prizes after taking part in a national writing competition. The children entered a writing competition organised by Scottish Ballet that was based on the story of Hansel and Gretel.
Lots of fantastic pieces of work were produced by the classes involved and lots of hard work and effort that was put into the pieces of writing so everyone was delighted when a letter arrived to the school to inform us that one of our pupils was a winner!
One lucky lady from Rockfield was awarded a first equal prize in the competition and was given a copy of Grimm’s Fairy Tales and a family ticket to go and see the ballet production too! However, the success in Rockfield didn’t stop there…
Later that week Mr. Degnan received an e-mail to inform him that we also had 6 runners up in our classes! Each of the runners up was awarded with a goody bag from Scottish Ballet. The children and staff are very proud of such a huge achievement in a national competition! The winning pieces can be viewed via the Scottish Ballet website.
