Tarbert Academy Pupils in S3 Art and Music spent an exciting 2 days last week producing artworks and musical backing for use by Argyll & Bute Child Protection Committee. The project was to produce artworks which the CPC can use to broadcast messages about certain areas of concern for adolescents. Current research indicates that young people are spotting signs of neglect/abuse in their peers. The CPC is keen to ensure young people have information about how to access help or support if they have concerns about someone they know, or are experiencing abuse themselves.
The 3 artists involved were Fiona Blakey, Allan McKeown and Alex Honeyman (also representing the CPC) and the musician was Finlay Wells from Nutshell Music, Oban. All pupils had an exciting and challenging 2 days whether they were involved with the artworks producing posters and animations or working with instruments to produce the basis of the sound track.
