‘A fantastic evening was had by all at the Bunessan Primary PTA Burns Supper held on Friday 25th January. The haggis was piped in by Neil MacCallam and Bob Lawson provided a rousing rendition of ‘Address to the Haggis’. Once Mrs. MacCallum, our P5/6/7 teacher, had said the ‘Selkirk Grace’ we all tucked into a delicious three course feast prepared and served by PTA members. After dinner the children provided some Scottish entertainment for the guests.
The P1-4 children sang’Ye Canny Shove Yer Granny Aff a Bus’ and ‘Three Craws’. The P4 recorder group played the first verse of ‘Three Craws’. They had practised really hard to learn the tune and had to learn three new notes in a very short spcae of time. Well done 🙂 The P5/6/7 class sang ‘The Braes O’ Killiecrankie’ and ‘Donald Where’s Yer Troosers’ and made everyone roar with laughter with their version of ‘Charlie Is My Darlin”. The P6 chanter group played a few tunes and the P6/7 choir, The Gracenotes, also sang for us. A very enjoyable evening was had and many thanks to all who attended and those who helped.’
Sounds like it was a great night. Next time I come to visit i’d like you to teach me how to play Three Craws on the recorder.
