‘Smileawi’ at DPS

Nigel and Victoria Milne were delighted to be invited along to Dunoon Primary School to talk to P4- P7 about their adventures in Malawi. They showed the children a slideshow and told them about the work that the Raven Trust does in Malawi. They told them about rural poverty and the difficulties facing the local people also telling them a little bit about the water projects and the wonderful work that they saw Mary’s Meals doing. Clyde, the Clyde Cottage Nursery’s teddy bear coming with them for an adventure was a popular part for the children. The children all sat beautifully quiet and asked lots of sensible questions at the end. They talked to them about their plans for the future and fundraising. They were delighted with the donation that was received of a huge pile of toothbrushes. They hope that these toothbrushes will join the hundreds that they have already collected and will be sent out in the next container to Malawi, hopefully in February or March. Well done to the Milne’s what a wonderful project! The children of Dunoon Primary were talking about it for most of the day. Thank you.
