On Monday 6th March Arinagour Primary School were presented with their Gold Flag Award for 2016 – 2018. This award formally recognises a school’s achievement in putting P.E. and school sport at the heart of planning, practice and ethos.
The presentation was made by Mr Stewart Harris, Chief Executive of SportScotland, Lorna Jackson, Robbie Stewart also from SportScotland and Muriel Kupris from Argyll & Bute Council made the long trip to Coll to attend the presentation. This was very much appreciated.
We were delighted that Rona Young our P.E. Lead officer, was on the island delivering BMT activities because our success in achieving this award has been largely due to her support and encouragement.
Thanks were given to parents for their support in encouraging their children to be involved in as many activities as possible. In many cases it is the parents themselves who organise and run these activities but we also have a number of adults in the community who run activities.
So a big pat on the back for everyone.
