On the 1st of June 2016, eleven pupils from Dunoon Grammar School took part in the Scottish Disability Sports National Junior Athletics tournament in Grangemouth. Competitors came from all over the country to race and take part in a great variety of sports. This is the sixth time that DGS pupils have participated.
It was an early start for all the pupils and staff, catching the 8am Western ferry. Once on the bus we had an hour and a half journey up to Grangemouth. On arrival we had to register and pick up our competing schedule.
DGS pupils performed very well bringing home 3 gold, 4 Silver and 5 bronze medals. A member of staff that accompanied the pupils said, “The SDS athletics at Grangemouth provides our pupils with an opportunity to represent their school in a national event.
