World book day was celebrated in style by the children and staff at Drumlemble and Carradale Primary Schools. Everyone rose to the occasion and came to school dressed as a book character. These ranged from Gangster Granny, to Katy Morag and even the Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland.

The children from both schools completed book related activities when they first arrived at school.

The Carradale children then travelled to Drumlemble to participate in some activities there. The children worked with the peers in a carousel of adult led activities, which were enjoyed by all. These included using musical instruments to tell a story, using their imagination to draw a character which was being described to them and even acting out various stories.

The children had already been told that the categories for the best costume were; most colourful, most original and most imaginative. It proved incredibly hard to choose the winners, as everyone had such fantastic costumes.

The winners of most colourful were, Jack, Morgon-Faith and Aurora. Most imaginative was won by Tyler, Katie and Connor and most oringial was won by Zoe, Thomas and Isaac.
