Ten pupils from Kilcreggan primary recently achieved John Muir Discovery awards in recognition of their awareness and responsibility for wild places work. The pupils were all part of an after school club which met weekly last session and undertook various activities in and around the school grounds relating to discovering, exploring, conserving and sharing wild places.
They created a bird feeding area and hides to watch the wildlife around the playground. They also created a super “ bug hotel” to attract all sorts of creepy crawlies to the area.
Pupils received their certificates at our weekly assembly.
A new group of enthusiastic pupils will work towards their awards this session
Well done Kilcreggan. When you check and see just how many “visitors” stay at your hotel, you will be truly amazed. I hope you provide bed and breakfast!
Well done Kilcreggan. A very worthwhile and interesting award!
