Primary 6/5 visited the Science Centre today – but not just as a fun and educational day trip. We were there as Leaders of Learning as part of our Children in Scotland project with other schools and educational groups and the Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland’s Languages Alasdair Allan (Primary 6/5 were the only Primary school children there!)
As Leaders of Learning we were presenting the film we had made ourselves about Emotional Wellbeing. Emotional Wellbeing is “how we feel in school”, and feeling “safe, secure and happy”. We set up our stall which we used to show our storyboards, characters, pictures of when we were making the characters and story mountains (which show how characters toil up the mountainous problem, then find the solution and come down the other side).
“Later on all the adults came in to see our stalls and what we’ve been up to. Our stall was a hit! Everybody enjoyed our movie and all the children that told them about our project. They were very impressed!”
Our film showed how a new person should be welcomed into the school. We received lots of compliments about our film, then we had a fantastic time at the Science Centre!
