Shared Learning Training

This week Dunoon Primary and the P6 pupils of St Muns Primary have been busy working together in a Shared Learning Initiative. This was led by 5 pupils from our Sal Team and assisted by Mr Gary Clark, Mrs Mary Peek, and Mr Steven Simpson (DGS Student). The pupils from St Muns were very enthusiastic and keen to learn all the new technology skills that were on offer.

Our Sal Team confidently demonstrated how to operate Raspberry Pi and Kodu and gave St Muns a demonstration of Scratch. This is a free programming language and online community where you can create your own interactive stories, games, and animations. They also demonstrated Livecode which teaches you how to build an app for mobile or desktop; and Lego Mindstorms which contains software and hardware to create customizable, programmable robots. It wasn’t long before the two schools were engrossed in their shared learning.

When the session came to an end Mr Clark asked the P6’s what they enjoyed the most and Kodu was the outright winner!
DPS pupils will be visiting St Muns this week to continue learning together.
