Dunoon Primary School Choir hosted a superb Daffodil Tea entitled ‘Be Our Guest’. The afternoon show was attended by members from various senior citizen groups within our local community and it has indeed become an annual event. The children began the programme with a medley of Scottish songs including old favourites like ‘Red Yoyo’, ‘Skyscraper Wean’ and ‘Loch Lomond’. The solo singers sang so sweetly and clearly wowing the audience both at the afternoon tea and in the evening, much to the pleasure of the very proud parents!
The pupils treated the audience to some super highland dancing, piping and even the fiddle! What a magnificent night! The walls were adorned with the pupils’ work with displays depicting songs from the programme. The hall had a packed audience in the evening and the crowd were enthralled by each song, some even joined in!
After the interval the pupils arrived on the stage in their sports gear. This year has a special twist to celebrate the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The second half songs were ‘Race to the End’ and a couple of contemporary songs which were suitably adapted by our music producer Mrs Hamlet, who has worked diligently to produce some amazing new songs for our pupils. Well done and a huge thank you to each and everyone who helped with the Choir, and for their tireless work behind the scenes. Most of all a huge well done to the stars of the show, the children themselves!
