With the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games less than 6 months away, the children and staff at St. Mun’s joined in the warm up for Scotland’s biggest-ever festival of sport and culture, by wearing their trainers to school to celebrate Commonwealth Day. Sport Your Trainers was a great opportunity to bring the Commonwealth Games to life in the school, allowing pupils and teachers to show their support in a fun and easy way, ahead of their IDL project on the Commonwealth, which will begin after the Easter Holidays. The day was the perfect opportunity to consider how to link the special event to wider learning about the Commonwealth. Game On Scotland, the official Glasgow 2014 education programme, contains a wealth of information, resources and opportunities which the children will be using to enhance their learning across the curriculum.
