On Thursday 24th of October we went to Cairnmore woods to have a Mesolithic day. We did lots of challenges like hunt for food and we also had to make a journey stick. That’s when we wrap a stick in twine and take wee bits and bobs from the day and put it in the bits of twine so our group took a leaf and some bracken. We also built shelters, mini camps and told our Mesolithic stories.

Music on Islay
On Islay, people play many traditional Scottish instruments such as accordion, bagpipes, tin whistle, chanter, fiddle and voice. On Islay there is a 3 days of workshops called the Feis, where children all ages can go and learn an instrument or expand on what they can already do on their own instrument. The accordion is an instrument that has a keyboard on one side, on the other is buttons, to make a sound you need to pull in and out. Bagpipes is a bag with big pipes coming out the top, a pipe with a blow piece to make the sound and there is 8 holes to put your fingers on. A chanter is the instrument that people learn before going onto the pipes. A tin whistle is a instrument that has 6 holes and mouth piece, most people get it mixed up with a recorder. A fiddle is a mini guitar that you hold under your chin and play it with a bow. What music means to us, its fun to play, good to learn and many people enjoy listening to the music.
P6/7 Book Festival Author Joan Lennon
In the P6/7 class room the famous author Joan Lennon came in to talk to us about her exiting new books: The Case of the London Dragonfish, The Case of the Glasgow Ghoul and the Case of the Cambridge Mummy! In class we have been reading The Case of the London Dragonfish. We were asking her lots of questions like: What inspired you to write?; What was your first book you wrote? And-What age were you you started writing? We found out lots of information! Next year I wish we will have another author as good as Joan Lennon.

We stayed at my Auntie Ann and I went to Lego land on the first day of our holiday and it was very fun, we got soaked because went on lots of wet rides plus it was raining at the end of the day. We went to see Matilda on the Theater and it was so good, we also went in to a place called Windsor to do some shopping and it was the best shopping experience ever and I really want to go again.
