Holes Book Review By Charlie

Holes,

Louis Sachar,

Evaluating.

This book is a great book because the author has used lots of different Punctuation and describing words to write the book such as: stooped, huge, “, -, ?,., ; and !  The book is quiet funny as the author has used most of the funny parts at the end of sentences when people have finished talking.

I would say that the genre of this book is comedy because a lot of people characters were just digging lots of holes.  Stanley and Hector/Zero the two main characters.  Stanley and Zero saw this thing on the mountain and they thought it was a big thumb so they left camp to climb the big mountain then they found out that it was a big thumb.

One of the funny parts in the book is” Stanley had seen KB is his mothers bathroom and he also saw it in the wardens cabin. It was  halve of a lip stick tube.”  Stanley meets these new people at Camp Green Lake who have very weird names like; Zero, Armpit, Zigzag, Squid, X-Ray and Magnet. Overall I would rate this book 5/5.

BLYTHESWOOD SHOE BOXES

Last Thursday the school asked us to take in shoe boxes filled with Christmas goodies to go to people on the other side of the world. They could go for old people , young people and babies and they are for those people who don’t have anything like us. This year our school put in 24 shoe boxes for those people around the world. Why do we put shoe boxes in? So that other people around the world can have new Clothes, Shoes, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Hats, Scarves, Gloves, Shampoo, Body Wash and sweets. You aren’t allowed to put Chocolate and water into the box.  The project is run by the Blytheswood Trust.

Animations For Primary 7 Leavers Assembly

The primary 7s at Port Ellen Primary will be going to High School soon and every year when primary sevens leave the class P5/6/7 help make a video to show on the last week of school about the Primary sevens. This year we have included animations to go with the poem “If” by Rudyard Kipling. Everyone in the class created a short animation to go with a line from the poem. To create an animation we used IMotion. We had to make sure that the animations went with the line of the poem we had picked. The animations took a long time because you take a photo of something then you have to move it a little bit more then it keeps going like that.  We hope you like the finished movie.
