Good Morning,
The last day before the holidays. The excitement of this is maybe now not what it should be. These last weeks may have been tricky for you and your family as we know that lots of you are missing your friends and activities we have in school. The large parts in the ‘area’ will be quiet and dusty. There are no calls to tidy up the junk modeling and craft area. There are no Cuisenaire rods being slotted down the gaps between the tables. There is no quiet class of 29 children attentively sitting together (holding hands as many of you do) listening to Miss Craig or Miss Morland reading a story. There is no loud ‘discussion’ over who is going to get the milk cartons with the ‘pink’ or ‘blue’ or ‘green’ barcode stripe at the bottom of the carton. Parents- this seems to be a real deal! There is no ‘I forgot what lunch I’m having, tuna, cheese or ham?? ‘ There is no ‘bug under the rug’. Well maybe you are playing this with your toys? We will all appreciate school all the more when we do go back! The real-life lessons on resilience are making you strong .
Thank you parents and carers for trying to do what you can to continue some learning at home. We understand that circumstances are different and the amount you will have done will vary. We will be finding new ways to support you after the Easter Break. If you would like some ideas for fun activities to do during the holidays these will be posted on the blog shortly.
Miss Morland has been in at St Mary’s the last two days and I (Miss Craig) have some days at Simpson’s during the break. So we may see some of you or friends from another school attending. If so tell them to say ‘Hi’!
Now some literacy and Numeracy tasks to keep you busy today!
